Destination Vacation Photography in Costa Rica- Surf & Sunset

The families that hired me to go with them to Costa Rica and document their trip are way into the beach and surfing. The men wake up at 4:30am every morning to head to the beach to arrive by sunrise. It is a beautiful sunrise there as I went and shot them one morning, they where very excited. The surf was not big, but it was still fun and beautiful. The sunsets are amazing. Thought you may like to see some different photography then weddings for a change. Would like to give a shout out to Jeremy, Noah, Bryson, James, and Todd, Luke, Riley, and Leod, had a great time! :)

Destination Vacation in Costa Rica!

I Have done quite a few destination weddings, but this is the first "destination vacation" I have ever had the pleasure of doing. I must say, Costa Rica was truly a paradise. Four families from Northern California set off to surf the entire month of February in Avellanas, Costa Rica. They bring their families, and this time they brought my family too! I documented their trip, their surf, and their family pictures throughout., the trip. I will blog  a few times about these travels as there is a lot to share. I must say everyone must see Arenal, Costa Rica. Stay at Valcan Arenal, Los Lagos Hotel and Resort, it is incredible! 7 sprawling natural hot springs, with waterfalls and slides going into them. Secluded natural hot springs with caves and the jungle surrounding. There are many water slides for the kids and my kids favorite part, go figure. To my surprise there was also the craziest ant farm you have ever seen, a butterfly farm, a frog room, crocodiles and alligators, zip lining on the property and did I mention you are sitting on the bottom overlooking a volcano. It happened to start to erupt while we were there. Big puffs of smoke billowing out. I will blog it soon! Thank you families for a wonderful trip! You name it we saw it!

I have had so many opportunities the last few years to shoot destination weddings. From South Carolina to Cabo, from Puerta Villarta to Vancouver. God is good! This is the first time I have been hired to shoot families out of the country and document their vacation! What a GREAT idea! Instead of hiring me for a shoot at Christmas, 4 families pitched in to send my family with them and do family shoots while we are there in the jungle and on the beaches of Costa Rica. This will be worth every penny for them. After they want me to put together photo books.....Genius! Look out for images from Costa Rica in a few weeks, I promise I they won't disappoint!

Wedding Venues in Orange County- Anaheim Sheraton

I was pleasantly surprised showing up to shoot a wedding at the Anaheim Sheraton, located directly across the street from Disneyland. Not to mention Crystal & Peter, the bride and groom, were extremely cute and sweet. I did not expect much from this hotel venue initially, I expected an average hotel needing much of my creativity to pull off a great result for bridal party and Romantics especially. However, this Sheraton was filled with many opportunity's to shoot. The lobby is very modern, and in contrast the ceremony site was very quaint and cutesy. There is a great bridge and plenty of places to shoot romantics and bridal party pics. This wedding was also a Lisa Simpson wedding, which made it that much more fabulous. All of Lisa Simpson's weddings are beautifully put together. She is a very established wedding coordinator located in Orange County, California. You can find her at This venue is a great consideration if you want a Disney wedding or a great affordable venue in Orange County. I urge you to check it out!
